The Yankees appear to be getting healthy at just the right time and are streaking while the Mariners are cooling off from a hot start.

Before Wednesday’s 10-1 Seattle victory in The Bronx, the Mariners were 3-9 in their past 12 while the Yankees were 14-5 in their past 19. In their surge, the Yankees had scored four or more runs in 14 of those games while the Mariners had allowed four or more runs in 14 of their past 18.

Thursday’s pitching matchup should lend itself to quite a few runs, with Mike Leake and J.A. Happ going at it. The Over is 5-2 in Happ’s seven starts this season, while the Over is 6-1 in Leake’s starts.

Leake is backed up by a bullpen that is 25th in the majors in ERA and must face a Yankees lineup that has Miguel Andujar, Gary Sanchez and Clint Frazier back in the fold.

As for Happ, he is facing a Mariners team that entered Wednesday with a 25-11-2 record to the Over, by far the highest in MLB, and he is giving up 2.1 home runs per nine innings to go with a 4.93 ERA. With the Mariners leading the league in most home runs per at-bat with one every 18.5, this should lend itself to a slugfest.

The play: Yankees-Mariners, Over 9¹/₂ runs.
