Brooklyn’s record rookie quintet has been a mixed bag so far, as has Ben Saraf’s debut season.

The Israeli point guard has shown physicality, a strong handle and an ability to get downhill. He’s also a poor shooter and prone to turnovers, so much so that it drives Nets coach Jordi Fernández crazy at times.

In Tuesday’s 117-86 loss to Charlotte, Saraf had three assists but just as many turnovers. And two nights earlier, he’d handed out six dimes but coughed it up five times to counter them.

As the Nets try to develop Saraf, Fernández is coming to realize he may just have to take the bad with the good, and hope they can smooth out the former as he leans into the latter.
