Condé Nast yesterday tapped Joe Simon, the former chief technology officer at Viacom, to fill the same position at the publishing giant. The hire marks a pair of firsts: Simon will be Condé’s first CTO, and it is the first major appointment by Bob Sauerberg, who was installed as company president two weeks ago.
