Dear John: In 2011 I put out a book called “Fighting for Redemption: The Irish Teddy Mann Story.” This was about me and was accomplished with the help of a supposed friend, who has since then pushed me to the point of a nervous breakdown by claiming the book.

The book was finished by 2005 or so. I’m including a copy of the copyright registration from 2006.

This other person did not write my autobiography. It was written — 100 percent — by me.

But I needed someone to format the book as well as put in about 150 pictures from my collection. That’s where he came in.

A friend advised me, “Let him have the book.”

Well, after writing the story for at least 30 years, I’m not giving up anything. Please advise me on who I should get in touch with to help in this situation.

Dear T.M.: Here’s what I think. And it may not be what you want to hear, but pay attention to the whole thing.

I think you should listen to your friend. Let this other guy have the book. And wish him a whole lot of luck.

From what I can tell this book sold very few copies — around 100. And it had a lousy rating on Amazon.
