ABC taps new ad sales chief
ABC tapped Geri Wang, who heads up primetime ad sales for the network, to be its new sales chief.
As president of sales and marketing, Wang replaces her former boss, Mike Shaw, who left in November after more than a decade as the ABC’s top sales executive.
Wang’s appointment comes ahead of the “upfront” ad sales season in May, when the networks negotiate to sell the bulk of their primetime inventory for the fall TV season.
Like her predecessor, Wang will lead those negotiations for ABC. After suffering a sizable ad drop last year, the broadcast networks are hoping this season’s upfront will be better.
