Alex SapirLois WeissBillionaire Alex Sapir on Monday will try again to wrest control of the Mondrian SoHo hotel after his attempt to storm it failed.
Sapir in March bought the A-list hotel, restaurant and bar out of foreclosure. But Morgans Hotel Group maintains it is in the third year of a binding 10-year management contract.
Last Monday, Sapir at roughly 2:30 a.m. tried to oust Morgans employees from the hotel until they called the police.
This Monday Sapir will meet with New York state Supreme Court Judge Lawrence Marks.
Sapir said, “We intend to seek an order directing Morgans to leave the hotel we own, which we believe they now occupy unlawfully.”
