Amazon, which is still battling with Hachette over e-book pricing terms, has opened negotiations with a second major publisher, CBS-owned Simon & Schuster.
“We are negotiating with Amazon as we speak, so I don’t want to go into too many details about it,” CBS head honcho Les Moonves said at a conference Tuesday in Aspen, Colo.
Hachette says Amazon’s desire to heavily discount e-books would harm its overall business, while Amazon says it’s trying to deliver the lowest-priced books possible.
