Apple Inc .board member Jerome York has died, the company said Thursday. York, 71, was hospitalized Wednesday after reportedly suffering from a brain aneurism. He joined Apple’s board in 1997.

York was a former chief financial officer for both IBM and Chrysler, and a former vice chairman of Tracinda.
