Apple is giving away free updates to its Snow Leopard operating system, according to reports.

Unfortunately, Snow Leopard isn’t Apple’s newest system. But, that will help MobileMe users upgrade to Apple’s latest Lion system, which they need to access the iCloud storage service that’s replacing MobileMe in June.

Until June 15, Apple is giving MobileMe users a free upgrade to Snow Leopard, which will allow them to upgrade to Lion from the Mac App Store for $30, according to CNET.

MobileMe users who don’t upgrade before June 30 will be out of luck.
