US dairy farmers are giving raves to Chinese takeout — Chinese people ordering pizzas and cheeseburgers.

But American consumers may think that Asians are milking an udderly bad situation.

Asia’s growing appetite for these “all-American” foods means the US is exporting the most cheese ever, hiking domestic commodity costs.

Wholesale cheddar cheese prices have risen 53 percent as the US shipped more than twice as much to Asia in the first four months of 2011 as a year earlier, US Dairy Export Council data show. South Korea, the region’s biggest buyer, almost tripled imports; China’s more than doubled.
