Bair bullish on banks
Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chairman Sheila Bair said the number of US bank failures stemming from the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression will fall below the agency’s earlier estimates.
“Some of the banks we thought would fail have actually raised capital,” Bair said yesterday in a CNBC television interview.
