Microsoft’s new Bing search engine gained US market share in its first month — numbers respectable enough to put No. 2 Yahoo! in its sights.
Bing took 8.23 percent of US Web searches in June, up from 7.81 percent for Microsoft search just prior to its June 3 rollout, said data firm StatCounter.
Yahoo rose to 11.04 percent from 10.99 percent. No. 1 Google lost share slightly to 78.48 percent from 78.72 percent.
