BLENDER OUSTS PUBLISHER
Blender magazine, the musical sidekick to Maxim, just bounced its publisher.
Ben Madden, a former publisher at Reader’s Digest, is the new publisher, replacing Lee Rosenbaum.
Through September, Blender’s ad pages were off 1 percent to 501.6, compared with a year ago.
Madden had been tossed from Reader’s Digest in March, following its $2.5 billion takeover by Ripplewood Holdings. Insiders said he had clashed with CEO Mary Berner, because he tried to push for an equity stake.
In August, Madden landed as a vice president of sales at Time Inc.-owned Media Networks.
