Mayor Bloomberg yesterday outlined strategies intended to bolster the battered financial-services industry, from enticing firms in China and India to offering entrepreneurs bargain rents of $200 a month.,

The mayor said that the city will conduct an international recruitment campaign targeting commercial banks and insurance companies in developing countries, and he has already scheduled meetings in the Middle East in April and Beijing in June.

“If you’re an international company based elsewhere, New York is the United States,” Bloomberg said.

The mayor unveiled the first of several business-incubator locations at 160 Varick St., where 100 entrepreneurs will able to rent space, donated by Trinity Real Estate, for $200 a month, half the going rate.

The city hopes to generate 12,000 jobs in the next five years from the incubators.
