Walmart’s full-year profit may miss analysts’ expectations as growth slows in its international markets, pressuring the company even as its US stores continue to prosper.

Oracle fine

Oracle agreed to pay $2 million to settle claims by the SEC that it violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The software maker failed to prevent a subsidiary from making unauthorized payments to phony vendors in India, the SEC said.

Dewey deal

Former partners of the defunct law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf agreed to pay at least $50 million toward a settlement deal, the minimum the firm’s advisers had sought in order to submit the proposal to bankruptcy court.

Gap delivers

Gap reported a 29 percent rise in second-quarter profit, beating analysts’ estimates, propelled by domestic sales. The retailer also raised its full-year earnings forecast.

No Marvell

Marvell Technology fell in 9.45 percent in extended trading after the chipmaker reported results that missed analysts’ estimates.
