CFTC watch

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is in contact with futures exchanges over a brief plunge in oil prices yesterday, a top regulator with the exchange said. Brent crude oil prices plunged more than $3 in minutes just before 2 p.m. as trading volumes soared.

Zynga deal

Zynga, the largest maker of games played on Facebook, agreed to acquire California game maker A Bit Lucky, sources said.

Time Warner Cable plans to sell its 46.4 million shares of Clearwire, the money-losing venture to build a high-speed wireless Internet network across the US.

A federal appeals court again delayed a lawsuit against Google over its efforts to electronically scan millions of books from public and university libraries in order to make them available online.
