ETrade said first-quarter net income fell to $35 million, or 12 cents a share, but improved from a loss of $186.1 million in last year’s fourth quarter. Shares jumped 4.5 percent to $9.98 in after-hours trading.
Grill’s on fire
Fast-casual dining chain Chipotle Mexican Grill climbed 4.6 percent to $343.50 in extended trading after reporting first-quarter sales that topped analysts’ estimates.

A sharp fall in sales of Nokia’s basic phones rekindled fears over its future and sent its shares tumbling to year lows. Shares plummeted 11.45 percent to $3.17 on triple the normal volume.
