Bryan Shaw, the owner of a Los Angeles jewelry store. pleaded guilty to receiving insider information about KPMG clients provided by Scott London, a senior partner at the firm. Shaw agreed to pay $1.3 million and will be sentenced on Sept. 16.

TiVo, the developer of digital-video recorders, posted a narrower Q1 loss after signing new pay-TV subscribers. The net loss of $10.3 million, or 9 cents a share, compared with a loss of $20.8 million, or 17 cents, a year earlier.
