FB ads pulled
British Sky Broadcasting, the UK’s largest pay-TV broadcaster, has suspended its advertising on Facebook after one of its ads was displayed adjacent to offensive material. Facebook shares closed down 2.4 percent, to $23.93.
New WB trio
Warner Bros. has replaced film chief Jeff Robinov with the triumvirate of Sue Kroll, Greg Silverman and Toby Emmerich, the company said yesterday.
NCAA worry
Moody’s Investors Service is threatening to downgrade NCAA debt because of pending litigation by UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon challenging the college sports organization’s rights to athletes’ likenesses.
Deen canned
Smithfield Foods said yesterday it was dropping Paula Deen as a spokeswoman in the wake of her racial slurs scandal. QVC also said it was reviewing its deal with Deen.
BofA cuts
Bank of America Corp., the second-largest US lender by assets, told Texas regulators last week it will cut 411 jobs from a unit servicing troubled mortgages.
