Apollo Management LP’s offer of $12.55 a share in cash, or about $694 million, ended the bid ding war for CKE Restau rants, operator of the Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. fast-food chains.
Bad bankers
The IMF’s proposed global bank tax is not dead despite a split vote on the idea from the G20 finance ministers. The IMF is working on pro posals for G20 leaders when they meet in Can ada next month.
China vote
The World Bank agreed to elevate Beijing’s voting power to behind only the US and Japan in the 186-nation lending orga nization. It also boosted capital to $3.5 billion — the first increase in more than 20 years.
‘Avatar’ sales
DVD and Blu-ray sales of the hit movie “Avatar” scored a four-day record of $130 million, Twentieth Century Fox Home Enter tainment said yesterday. The News Corp. division sold 6.7 million units. (News Corp. also owns The Post.)
Bond biz
Current yields of sover eign bonds — an average 2.385 percent, about the same as a year ago — show investors aren’t troubled by inflation risk.
