Dimon safe
JPMorgan Chase’s James Dimon held on to both the chairman and chief executive jobs de spite a shareholder pro posal to split the roles. The company also de clared a 5 percent divi dend payable July 31 to shareholders of record as of July 6.
Online move
Best Buy will start its planned online service, CinemaNow, selling movies and TV shows this month through LG Electronics, Blu-ray players and plans to ex pand into Web-enabled electronics.
Verizon stake
Verizon said the phone company is in terested in purchasing Vodafone Group’s 45 percent stake in Veri zon Wireless, if the price is right.
Gucci loss
Daniella Vitale, presi dent of Gucci America, is leaving May 26 after more than 10 years at the company. The highly re garded exec raised Guc ci’s US profile, but is “simply burned out,” a source says.
