Verizon is taking $20.2 billion in charges to past earnings as it changes its pension-fund accounting. The change will lead to a $600 million expense in Verizon’s 2010 results.
Viacom pay
Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone re ceived 2010 compensa tion of $15 million, down from $16.9 million in 2009. CEO Phillippe Dau man was paid $84.5 mil lion, more than double his 2009 pay, an SEC fil ing said.

Stephen Ross’s Related Cos. took title to 232 un sold condo units in Bat tery Park City for $82.8 million after buying a foreclosure bid from lender Anglo Irish Bank Corp. Related was the original developer of the building at 225 Rector Place, in 1986.
