iPhone hunt

San Francisco’s police chief says officers helped Apple Inc. investigators look for a missing iPhone prototype that was left in a city restaurant in July. Police Chief Greg Suhr told the San Francisco Chronicle that four officers accompanied two Apple investigators who searched a San Francisco home for the lost gadget. Apple officials have declined to comment on the case.

G7 plans

Group of Seven financial leaders, worried about global growth, are likely to agree this week to keep monetary policy accommodative, slow fiscal consolidation in countries where that is possible and implement structural reforms, a G7 source said. Finance ministers and central bank governors of the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Italy and Britain (G7) meet on Friday in Marseilles to discuss what action to take to prop up the global economy.

$1,900 gold

Gold climbed to a near record high above $1,900 an ounce as renewed pangs of euro zone debt concerns sent investors fleeing from riskier assets.
