American Apparel said yesterday its acting president Tom Casey has resigned, a year after joining the troubled retailer.
Prison time
William Shternfeld, who pleaded guilty to conspiring to cheat investors with a fake hedge fund, was sentenced to five years and three months in prison by US District Judge Sidney Stein in Manhattan.
BNY Mellon
A Virginia state judge dismissed two of three remaining claims in a suit seeking about $932 million in penalties and damages from Bank of New York Mellon over forex trades executed for public pension plans in that state. The main allegation — that the bank violated the Fraud Against Taxpayers Act — remains intact.

NBC exit
Marc Graboff, president of NBC’s West Coast business operations, is leaving. Graboff signed a three-year contract in August 2010, not long before Comcast took over the network.
