Oil fired up
Oil futures jumped over $110.55 a barrel in after-hours trading yesterday following a report of a pipeline explosion in Saudi Arabia. A Saudi official told CNBC the report, which came from Tehran-based PressTV, was untrue.
AOL layoffs
AOL, the Internet company that owns the Huffington Post, plans to cut jobs, including workers at its instant-message service, sources said. Less than 100 workers will be affected.
Shutterbug
Eastman Kodak, the photo pioneer reorganizing in bankruptcy, agreed to sell its online photo services to Shutterfly for $23.8 million.
Dark art
Sotheby’s shares fell 9 percent to $36.75 after auction revenue declined in the fourth quarter amid European economic turmoil.
Aereo fight
NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox and a unit of Univision sued start-up Aereo, alleging copyright infringement. Aereo plans to offer New York City residents the ability to stream broadcast-TV signals over Web-enabled devices. Like The Post, Fox is owned by News Corp.
