Eye on EMI
The FTC should scrutinize whether Citigroup’s proposed sale of EMI would hurt competition in the music industry, advocacy group Public Knowledge said.
AIG offering
The government plans to sell $6 billion in AIG common stock it received as part of its rescue of the insurer at the height of the financial crisis.
Greek deal
Holders of more than half of Greek bonds pledged to participate in the government’s debt exchange offer. This is less than the 90 percent needed for a voluntary restructuring of some $270 billion of debt in private-sector hands, but more than the 50 percent that will allow the government to force the deal.
About-face
AMR, the bankrupt parent of American Airlines, proposed a plan to freeze pensions, retreating from an earlier proposal to end them.
Mulally dough
