Call for job seekers
New York could soon have up to 6,000 new high-tech jobs paying as much as $30-plus an hour.
That’s the pledge from Arise Virtual Solutions, a fast-growing virtual business provider to global brands such as Carnival Cruise Lines, AAA Travel and Time Inc., as it embarks on a mad dash to fill the jobs for contract workers.
These are home-based, call-center positions. The hours are flexible, though a 15-hour weekly minimum is expected.
The job requirements: basic computer skills, a landline telephone and a winning customer service personality. A college degree is nice but not mandatory.
Call-center workers, typically self-employed, make an average of $10-$14 an hour.
