CALPERS LOSS
The California Public Employees’ Retirement System said the market value of its assets plunged 23.4 percent for the year ended June 30, marking the most severe annual decline the nation’s largest public pension fund has ever reported. The market value of CalPERS assets stood at $180.9 billion. That’s down sharply from $237.1 billion a year ago.
