Hiding in cyberspace couldn’t keep four alleged counterfeiters from being sued by Chanel.
The French fashion house is seeking up to $1 million in damages for each type of knock-off being sold through a series of linked Web sites registered to owners in China and Hong Kong.
The Manhattan federal court suit says the bogus goods include handbags, wallets and jewelry “bearing exact copies of Chanel’s trademarks.”
