Google said some Web search features have been partially blocked in China as the company awaits a decision from the country’s government on whether it can keep providing Internet services there.

The blockage affects the “suggest” tool, which helps users refine queries as they are typed, Mountain View, Calif.-based Google said in an e-mailed statement. Traditional searches are unaffected, it said.

Google dropped $9.31, or 2.1 percent, to $444.95 in Nasdaq trading.
