Journalists don’t get paid a lot. But sometimes we get to do fun stuff because of our jobs.

The other day I found myself flying down the Hudson River in a “cigarette boat” that was powered by four Mercury Marine FourStroke 350hp Verado outboard engines.

Four engines! Total of 1,400 horsepower — twice the muscle of a Lamborghini Aventador. That boat was bouncing off waves at 80 mph.

And I was holding on for dear life. My fingerprints will be on that hold bar for many years to come.

And, no, I didn’t throw up.
