Countrywide just might be next.
In what is beginning to look like a trend, the feds probing the collapse of Countrywide Financial Corp. have been calling witnesses before a grand jury, The Wall Street Journal reported late yesterday, citing people familiar with the matter.
That could mean the longtime investigation of the former mortgage giant — the company led by disgraced exec Angelo Mozilo, the face of the subprime disaster — is moving toward a resolution.
