CNBC’s “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer keeps putting his foot in his mouth – and this time he’s drawn the ire of AIG’s new CEO, Edward Liddy.

Last week, the former hedge fund manager told viewers to harass AIG employees amid concerns that the company was spending money for retreats and executive bonuses even as it sought a government bailout.

“We should hound them in the supermarket, we should hound them in the ball park, we should hound them everywhere they are,” he said.

Liddy, who’s only headed the insurance company a month now, responded with an irate letter to Cramer, according to a copy obtained by The Wall Street Journal blog Deal Journal. Liddy called the comments “outrageous” and demanded a retraction.

On his show Monday night Cramer apologized, telling viewers he was talking about AIG’s former board and executives, not rank-and-file workers.

“Sorry, regular AIG guys, I did not mean you,” he said.
