The Cincinnati-based parent of Dan’s Papers, the offbeat weekly Hamptons newspaper, is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Brown Publishing Co., publisher of 15 daily and 32 weekly newspapers primarily in Ohio, said it had assets of $94.9 million and debt of $104.6 million as of March 31.
