New York Supreme Court Judge Richard Lowe blessed Dish’s settlement with Cablevision and AMC yesterday, noting that if the case had proceeded it may have been headed for a mistrial.

Dish will wire a check tomorrow to the parties for $700 million, which Cablevision and AMC will split evenly.

The parties had been at war over a defunct programming venture, Voom, that Dish had stopped carrying two years into a 15-year agreement.

Separately, Dish’s vice president of programming, Carolyn Crawford, showed up in court to apologize for slapping Cablevision lawyer Orin Snyder’s father on the back and saying sarcastically that he should be proud of his son.

Crawford told the judge, “We want to offer a sincere apology. My emotions got the better of meexplaining that she felt like attacks on the Dish’s document retention policies reflected badly on her.”

The settlement sent stocks in all three companies higher yesterday.

AMC rose 3.9 percent to $47.30, while Cablevision rose 0.33 percent to $18.45.

Dish climbed 3.27 percent to $36.63.
