In 2013, Disney stopped offering stock certificates, which were a time-honored children’s birthday present, since the modern stock exchanges were moving to all-electronic trading.

To fulfill the desire of customers wanting all things Disney, the company is now offering an updated “Disney Collectible Shareholder Certificate,” featuring new characters and Walt, exclusively for shareholders through the Disney Store, our Lois Weiss reports.

The “certificate” runs $50 and can be personalized with a name — but investors be warned, you cannot sell it next time Disney reports that ad sales for its cable sports network ESPN are disappointing.
