Walt Disney, expanding its Internet strategy, will put ABC and ESPN clips on Google’s YouTube. The media company also is near a deal to take a stake in Hulu.com, two people with knowledge of the plans said.

Disney has the option to sell ads on YouTube, where videos will appear to US viewers starting in April, the company said yesterday.

Full episodes of ABC-owned television shows including “Lost” would appear for free at Hulu.com, in addition to ABC.com, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. Hulu, whose owners include NBC Universal Inc. and News Corp. (parent company of The Post), already hosts NBC and Fox shows.

Disney, down 21 percent this year, fell at the close 74 cents, or 4 percent, to $17.85.
