The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down over 240 points Friday in the last day of one of the exchange’s worst quarters in years.

The Dow closed down 240.67 points, or 2.16 percent, to 10,913.31.

It was down over 10 percent for the quarter, the largest percentage decline since the first quarter of 2009 and the worst point drop since the lowest depths of the financial crisis in late 2008.

The decline Friday was due to weak data on American incomes as well as anxiety over eurozone inflation and a report showing Chinese manufacturing contracted in September.
