Federal prosecutors arrested Scott Allen, of Atlanta, a former human resources consultant, and filmmaker John Bennett, 48, of Norwalk, Conn., for netting more than $2.6 million in illegal profits from deals involving two Japanese drugmakers.

Both defendants were free on bail after initially surrendering to authorities on the charges brought by the Manhattan US Attorney’s office.
