A Federal Reserve survey released yesterday shows that economic conditions remained weak and even deteriorated in many regions of the country as recently as last month, with commercial real estate and labor markets continuing to face challenges.
The report covers the period from mid-April through May.
Despite costly federal efforts to restart credit markets, it is still very difficult for consumers to obtain loans, the report shows.
The report reinforces expectations that the Fed won’t raise rates anytime soon.
