Herbalife CEO Michael Johnson, after enduring perhaps his toughest year atop the nutritional supplements distributor, got a 2 percent raise in 2013.

Battling activist Bill Ackman’s accusations that the Los Angeles multi-level marketer is a pyramid scheme, Johnson saw his total compensation rise to $10.5 million in 2013 from $10.3 million the prior year, according to Herbalife’s proxy, filed Thursday.

Last year’s comp included $375,637 for use of a chartered aircraft “to ensure [Johnson’s] personal security and to enable him to further company business while in transit,” the proxy said.

Johnson’s wife and dependent children can ride along for free.
