EMI sets Vevo deal
Vevo, the self-described YouTube for music, yesterday inked a deal with EMI Music for video content.
Of the four big labels only Warner will be AWOL when Vevo launches today.
Universal Music and Sony Music jointly own Vevo. The deal with EMI, whose artists include Katy Perry and Coldplay, is a straight licensing deal.
Professionally produced videos from Universal, Sony and EMI artists will be available on Vevo.com and on YouTube, which is powering the service.
