Empire State Building Realty Trust cleared the ceiling yesterday, gaining more than the 80 percent supermajority of holders to approve the consolidation of the building and 20 other properties into a real estate investment trust, according to Malkin Holdings LLC, which controls the tower.

Now investors can proceed with plans for an initial public offering as the approval process nears an end, despite dissension from some holders.
