RICHFIELD, Minn. — Former Best Buy chief executive Brian Dunn, who abruptly resigned Tuesday, is being investigated by the company’s board over allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with a female subordinate, the Star-Tribune reported late Wednesday, citing a person close to the company.

The company, the person said, is investigating multiple complaints that Dunn, 51, behaved inappropriately with a female employee.

Dunn allegedly used company resources to carry out the relationship, the report said. The employee was not identified.

Best Buy said Tuesday, in announcing Dunn’s departure, that the company was investigating his “personal conduct” but did not elaborate.

A spokesman for Best Buy told the newspaper that the company’s investigation is ongoing but declined further comment. Dunn has not responded to requests for comment, the newspaper said.
