Some fashionistas might still be catching their breath after Fashion Week, which ended on Thursday, our Lisa Fickenscher reports.

The weeklong NYC extravaganza produced by IMG was more spread out than LA after it was booted from Lincoln Center last year. It landed mostly in two venues: Skylight at Moynihan Station (at West 33rd Street) and Skylight Clarkson Square (at Washington Street in West Soho).

Compounding the commute were the scores of shows — mostly the big designers like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein — that take place all over the city.

“I’ve put in over 400 miles on my car this week,“ said Fern Mallis, who is credited with creating New York Fashion Week in 1993. “I’m as frustrated as everyone about getting around. It’s something you have to grin and bear.”

But some bigwig designers like Dennis Basso — whose show was at the Farley Post Office — say that some aggravation could be avoided “if everyone showed in one of the IMG venues. It would make it so much easier for the working people at the show.”
