The US Federal Communications Commission dismissed an application by John Malone’s Liberty Media Corp. for permission to control Sirius XM Radio.

The request made March 20 isn’t acceptable for filing because Liberty Media couldn’t get passwords and other information from the largest US satellite radio company Sirius, the FCC said yesterday. Neither Liberty nor Sirius respond to requests for comments. Sirius XM fell 2.3 percent to close at $2.16.
