FedEx is pulling out of the Super Bowl after 12 years, citing concerns about paying for a pricey spot in tough times.

The longtime advertiser indicated earlier this year it might drop out of the game but didn’t confirm it until yesterday on the company’s blog.

Although ad sales hit a wall in September, NBC is still asking $3 million for a single 30-second spot in the Super Bowl.
