Wither weather TV.

Verizon FiOS notified its customers Tuesday there’s no more “Wake Up with Al.”

The Weather Channel, which carries the program starring “Today” show weather man Al Roker, is getting its marching orders.

FiOS will replace Weather Channel with Accu Weather Network and gave its reasoning in a statement: “In today’s environment, customers are increasingly accessing weather information, not only from their TV but from a variety of online sources and apps.”

DirecTV which blacked out Weather Channel a year ago made the same argument before returning the network to the dial.

Verizon characterized the switch as a long-term business decision versus a carriage dispute, however dashing hopes that the service may return promptly. The two parties were in the midst of working on a new agreement, the parties confirmed.

Weather Channel, backed by Bain, Blackstone and NBCUniversal is struggling to raise affiliate fees from distributors without the benefit of being part of a must-have programming bundle.

“After recently renewing carriage agreements with NCTC, Cox and Time Warner Cable, we are surprised Verizon FiOS would deny their subscribers access to the best live-weather coverage,” Weather Channel said.
