Dear John: I just wanted to write and thank you for your assistance with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I’m not sure what you said in your e-mail to it, but it contacted me this week and today I received $1,120 that was improperly taken from me.

While my money was refunded after a horrible situation, the Enterprise regional sales director did believe that demanding cash for a rental and then not allowing me to take the car — leaving me stranded — was the right course of action for his employee.

When I called to complain, my complaint was ignored. He didn’t waste any time trying to intimidate and coerce me throughout the phone call, saying that I should be grateful for his assistance.

It became clear that this manager encourages poor professional behavior no matter how it affects customers and is a direct reflection of the ethics at Enterprise.

I would caution anyone using its service. Nonetheless, I thank you for giving me the leverage to get the funds returned … the issue has weighed heavily on me and I’m happy to have it resolved. Jill

Dear Jill: Glad to help.
