The US isn’t the only place where big media consolidation is taking place. French entrepreneur Vincent Bolloré is busy assembling his own conglomerate at Vivendi.
Bolloré owns a 20 percent stake in the venture that houses the world’s largest music label, Universal Music, French pay-TV company Canal Plus and video site Daily Motion.
The firm looks like it’s poised for a merger with global advertising agency group Havas, run by his son, Yannick Bolloré, who is the CEO of Havas and also a member of the Vivendi board.
A source said, “He is clearly the heir apparent.”
